Turner Galleries is very pleased to present Theo Koning’s first major solo exhibition in five years.

This exhibition of new work will consist of sculptural assemblages created from found wooden objects. Recognisable wooden pieces come together to create new forms that explore the formal spatial problems of abstract sculpture. These lyrical works are about balance, form, negative spaces and minimal colour. Other sculptures reference figurative elements, and it is the juxtaposition of familiar objects in new and unique ways that make these works so quirky, humorous and appealing.

At age 61 Theo Koning could be considered one of Perth’s most important senior artists.
